Winter Break Has Begun
Salaam alaikum, our dear Al‑Hujjat community!
We pray that you are all doing well inshaAllah, and that your week has been full of blessings.
Alhamdulillah our first term of Madrasah is now at an end, and Winter Break has begun. With the success of last week’s Hijab seminar and the upcoming start of Term 2, there are several announcements to make, so please read on.
Looking Back: Hijab Seminar
On our final Madrasah day for Term 1, we Alhamdulillah had a successful Hijab Seminar for the boys and girls in Bands B-F, as well as interested teachers and parents, led by Sr. Nahid Kowsar. There was also a beautiful presentation on Sayyida Fatima (s.a.) made by the Tarbiyah Band F class. We would like to thank all those who attended for making the seminar the success that it was. We would also like to thank the teachers and volunteers who worked to make the seminar engaging and valuable for the attendees. Let us recite salawaat for them all!
Hijab Seminar Raffle Winners
Although we did not do any raffles during the seminar out of respect for the shahaadat of our Lady of Light Sayyida Fatima (s.a.), we did take note of the names of all those who attended and put them in a Wheel of Names to select the two blessed winners of the Door Prize and Exit Prize. The winners are below:

Hijab Seminar Survey
To understand how your experience with the Hijab Seminar was, as well as to help us make future seminars and workshops even better, we request that you please complete this short anonymous survey about the Hijab Seminar. The survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete, and incorporates both a feedback section and a knowledge/understanding section. We encourage both parents and students to complete this survey.

Sayyida Fatima (s.a.) Pomegranate Cookie Recipe
As part of the presentation on Sayyida Fatima (s.a.), the students of Band F shared a recipe for Pomegranate Cookies that makes for a great break-time activity! The recipe can be found here; give it a try! And if you’d like to share with us how you did, feel free to email a picture of your pomegranate cookies to [email protected]!
Term 1 Progress Reports Distributed
Last week, Progress Report Cards were handed out by email. If your children were recognised as Students of the Term at the Mid-Term Assembly, their official Student of the Term certificates were also distributed by email.

Madrasah Resumes on Jan. 9th
Al-Hujjat will be on Winter Break between December 26th and January 2nd, and we will be back for Term 2 classes on January 9th.
Term 2 Registration
If you have not yet registered your children for Term 2, please visit al-hujjat.ca/registration to register before the start of Term 2. If you have any questions, or are having trouble registering, please reach out to us by emailing [email protected], or by contacting our Secretary directly on WhatsApp at (289) 690-7116.
Term 2 Parent-Teacher Interviews
On our second week back after the break, Sun. Jan. 16th, we will inshaAllah be holding Parent-Teacher Interviews during Madrasah time. Quran teachers will be available to meet from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, and Tarbiyah teachers will be available to meet from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
If you would like to meet with any of your children’s teachers, please register for a time slot to meet with a teacher. We will be sending out a registration form closer to the day, so keep an eye on your inboxes.
End-of-Year Donations
